a nobleman
long nights of talk in japan with a friend. his ancestors are from nobility. and noblesse oblige. listening to stories of a life as an artist, stories of surviving and feeding a familiy. his kingdom was very small. now at an age of 65 he sees heavy responsibility coming and so he shows me that he is really busy the next 40 years. anyhow becoming 105 was not in my sphere and i went to sleep.
afterwards he sketched the whole night an amazing plan of becoming a landlord of 30 flats and supporting the social life of many others, every detail from walking distance to school and subway to local costs was sketched and wonderdfully thought through. maybe not clear to me but to him.
i was so deeply impressed that i wanted to assume for a moment his role and feel the same.
a steaming rice pot on the morning table created a misty world. so i took a jacket from a wall in his house, a flower jacket.
and did a selfportrait as a nobleman
